Examples of just some of the beneficiaries of the Lancashire Responding COVID-19 Community Support Fund include:


Lancashire Council of Mosques (Blackburn with Darwen)

To contribute towards the establishment of a bereavement and counselling service for people of the Muslim faith. The service will provide spiritual, general and religious support, made available to families either on the day of the burial or shortly afterwards via phone or video conferencing.

Lancashire BME Network (Blackburn with Darwen)

To expand and develop its offer by recruiting and training 10+ bi-lingual volunteers who are able to offer a befriending service in community languages to those affected by COVID19.

Out in the Bay (Lancaster)

Provide an online support group via zoom and distribute food to vulnerable community members. The grant will be used for staff, foodbank costs and equipment

Making Space (Lancaster)

Provide an online support service to help support vulnerable peoples metal health. The grant will be used for staff costs and equipment

Blackburn with Darwen Carers Service Ltd

To provide carers with a luxury pamper pack to improve their mental wellbeing during challenging times.

Counselling in the Community (Blackpool)

Provide telephone and online services via Zoom to help reduce isolation. The grant will be used for staff, operational costs and web hosting costs.

Fylde Coast Womens Aid (Blackpool)

To set up and staff a live online help facility on its website, to increase the number of ways that victims of domestic abuse in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre can access help during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Community Spirit BwD (Blackburn with Darwen)

Provide TVs and radios for local care homes to help reduce the feeling of isolation and improve mental health.

Cotton Shed Theatre Company (Rossendale)

Provide Zoom meetings for socially isolated vulnerable members of the community. The grant will be used for staff, zoom membership and travel costs

Rossendale Leisure Trust

Provide online range of exercises programmes for vulnerable community members. The grant will be used for instructor fees

One Voice Blackburn

Provide peer support sessions for vulnerable community members via online services. The grant will be used for staff, Zoom licence and equipment.

Nightsafe (Blackburn with Darwen)

To fund staffing hours to enable the reopening of emergency Nightshelter and daytime provision for people who are homeless, whilst staffing levels required to keep residents safe at home in the housing projects and facilitate the distribution of food to the wider community

People’s Enterprise & Empowerment Forum (Pendle)

To offer debt advice and information to vulnerable families who have additional issues such as language barriers, low skill levels and poor mental health.

Bradley Big Local Community Land Trust (Pendle)

Bradley Food 2 Go will provide a cooked meal each Friday to isolated and/or vulnerable residents who are referred to group by charitable or voluntary organisations.    

Red Rose Recovery (Preston)

To train service users in numerous mental wellbeing areas so they can give back to the community post-lockdown. Funds will cover staff pay, resources and overheads and training

Community Gateway Association (Preston)

Distribute essential items and food to struggling isolated community members. The grant will be used for travel, staff and item for the food packages.

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust (Blackburn with Darwen)

To establish a home delivery medicine system, so as to ensure that the most vulnerable and at-risk people within the communities of Blackburn with Darwen are still able to receive the medical supplies.

Rummage Rescuers CIC (Blackburn with Darwen)

To purchase PPE from a confirmed supplier so we can give free supplies of disposable masks / aprons / uniform wash bag / disposable gloves to care sector and third sector volunteers.

Community & Business Partners CIC (Blackburn with Darwen)

Provide craft boxes and packs to isolated members of the community. The grant will be used for staff and craft items.

DARE Darwen Asylum Seeker Enterprise (Blackburn with Darwen)

Support learners with volunteer mentors, top up Sim cards and essential hardware and resources to enable them to continue learning.

Asylum and Refugee Community Blackburn

To make contribution towards staff costs and IT equipment/social media upgrade in order to continue refugee and asylum service.

Fishwick Rangers Youth Development Scheme (Preston)

To provide packages of food, toiletries and cleaning products to local community members in partnership with two local Masjids

Preston's Promise

Provide food parcels and telephone support to people in the community. The grant will be used for the food parcels, staff and equipment

Youth Action (Blackburn with Darwen)

Deliver online support sessions for vulnerable families during the Coronavirus outbreak. The grant will be used for laptops and mobile phones to deliver the sessions.

Chorley Help the Homeless

Provide food packages and basic supplies to vulnerable community members. There will also be support for people to support with debt advice. The grant will be used for travel, volunteer costs and equipment.  

Blackburn Foodbank (Blackburn with Darwen)

To enable group to increase hours of warehouse manager for a period of six months. The warehouse is the hub of the foodbank in terms of being able to fulfil request for food parcels.

Burnley & Pendle Citizens Advice

To meet the increased need for financial inclusion support by expanding digital skills projects through AdviceLink, which will enable group to locate these services in-house.       

Nelson FC in the Community (Pendle)

Support local BME community by providing a 4 week befriending support & advice service, as well as help with collecting & delivering prescriptions and medicines from supermarkets and pharmacies

Positive Smiles (Blackburn with Darwen)

Provide support for vulnerable members of the community by offering telephone conversations for isolated people. The grant will be used for staff costs, calling costs and marketing.

Age UK Blackburn with Darwen

To cover the costs of telephone support for the elderly for 10hrs a week for 12 weeks.

Inter Madrassah Organisation (Blackburn with Darwen)

To deliver 500 food packages to 500 houses. Funding will cover the cost of making up the packages and delivery.

BPRCVS (Burnley)

Provide food and hygiene packs to socially isolated community members. The grant will be used for salary, volunteer and equipment costs.

Burnley Leisure

Provide online exercise classes to socially isolated and vulnerable community members. The grant will be used for staff and management costs.

Charter House Activity Centre C.I.C. (Burnley)

To maintain and enable group to further their capacity to provide free meals to vulnerable people. Funds will pay for kitchen equipment, packaging, facility costs, transport, produce and staffing.

THOMAS (Blackburn with Darwen)

To continue running drop In service and expanding to the weekend to meet severe need during Covid-19 crisis. Funding needed for food, cleaning products, welfare packages.

The Shiva Trust  (Rossendale)

To purchase a trailer and cover volunteer, petrol, PPE and project management costs in order to continue food parcel delivery service

The Therapeutic Forest CIC  (Rossendale)

Grant would fund a pilot project of Outdoor Mental Health support for Health Care and Care Workers affected by COVID-19

Blackburn Youth Zone (Blackburn with Darwen)

Help to provide food to suffering families. The grant will be used for staff costs, food and marketing.

The Boathouse Youth (Blackpool)

Grant to enable charity to deliver activity packages and essential food packs to the homes of hundreds of disadvantaged children and young people.

The Billy Project CIC (Blackburn with Darwen)

To deliver online training sessions and a safe space for group service users during the COVID-19 pandemic through mental and physical health support. Budget covers staff costs.

CancerCare (Lancaster)

To fund staff costs to enable bereavement counselling service for those affected by Covid-19 

Arts 2 Heal charity (Blackburn with Darwen)

To deliver art-resource packs to each beneficiaries, incorporated into an online, collaborative project to tackle isolation during Covid-10 crisis. The grant will be spent on purchasing art resources to create self-care packages, cover volunteer expenses to deliver the materials, and the cost of a project facilitator.

Community Network and Outreach Service (South Ribble)

Purchasing food and essentials over the Summer holidays and to sustain the Community Care Packs/Food Bank service 

Motiv8-Lancs CIC (South Ribble)

Provide craft kits for clients that are stuck at home due to Coronavirus, this will help improve mental health and wellbeing. The grant will be used for art and craft reources/kits.

Care Network (Blackburn with Darwen) Ltd

Provide support to local residents in the community that are struggling due to coronavirus. The grant will be used for staff costs.

Calico Homes Limited (Burnley)

Grant to be spent on providing outdoor resources aimed at improving the physical and mental wellbeing of older people who live in Calico Homes' five sheltered housing schemes during the Covid-19 pandemic.

New Era Enterprises Ltd (Burnley)

To create a dedicated helpline to continue supporting clients through the pandemic.

Building Bridges Burnley

To support the foodbank with delivering up to 170 food parcels per week.

Skelmersdale Ecumenical Centre (West Lancashire)

To provide a phone befriending service, develop a lunch order and drop off service, and provide Asylum wellbeing support. 

Stable Lives (West Lancashire)

To provide respite days for nurses, doctors, paramedics and care workers working on the front line of Covid-19. Attendees will work with horses, focusing on becoming aware of anxiety and stress and how they are illustrated in rescue horses and then talk on how the horses are rehabilitated to find peace and confidence.

The 180 Programme (Blackburn with Darwen)

Provide on-line and digital service for people that have been affected by Coronavirus. The grant will be used for staff costs.

Chorley Buddies 

Provide online telephone support system. The grant will be used for equipment

Provide a helpline and food for vulnerable people in the community. The grant will be used for staff, travel expenses and distribution costs.

FACE - FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENTERPRISE (Blackburn with Darwen)

To be able to continue to offer food and hygiene packs. Group have also created a mini lockdown survival kit.

Amazing Graze (Blackpool)

To purchase food to supply free of charge food parcels, and also ingredients to cook the 2500 meals per week, in order to offer a home cooked meal during Covid-19 crisis.

Gregson Community Association- Highfield project (Lancaster)

To contribute to the launch of a ‘Gregson Lends a Hand’ project and ‘Digital Care Package’ which connects community organisations and neighbours who can help, to those who need emotional, practical and online support              

Lancashire Wildlife Trust (Chorley)

To enable Myplace to extend contract of trainee officer, currently due to end in June for 2 days per week for 4 months. This would provide three additional Weekly Myplace at Home sessions for young people struggling with mental health. 

CancerCare (Lancaster)

To fund staff costs to enable bereavement counselling service for those affected by Covid-19 

Lancaster Community Club (trading as Eggcup)

Provide food pick-up points for community members. The grant will be used for purchasing items for the food bags and volunteer costs

SAFE (Lancaster)

To enable continued support for young people with mental health difficulties who may be experiencing further isolation due to the impact of Covid-19. Budget covers staff costs and mobile phone costs

Inter Madrassah Organisation (Blackburn with Darwen)

To purchase laptops to distribute to service users so they can access online mental health support, access online education options and be able to check Universal Credit accounts.

Child Action Northwest (Ribble Valley)

Provide online sessions and activities to reduce isolation and improve the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable people. The grant will be used for staff, resources and equipment

Whalley & Billington ­­­-­­­Flood Action Group (Ribble Valley)

Deliver food parcel to vulnerable people in the community. The grant will be used for the food parcels

Sweeneys Multi Sports (Rossendale)

To be spent on sessional workers planning, delivery & evaluation of 1 hour yoga activities - exercise and meditation / mindfulness - delivered via Zoom

Jubilee Tower Credit Union (Blackburn with Darwen)

To allow group to link with the Post Office to enable account holders to access funds via the "Payout NOW" service, and to implement an app based account access system.

Debt Advice Foundation (Blackburn with Darwen)

To ensure staff can continue delivering the telephone helpline service from home during lockdown by providing them with phones, laptops etc.

Positive Action in the Community – SafeSpace (Pendle)

Provide telephone/digitally based counselling support to vulnerable people in the community. The grant will be used for staff and travel costs   

Heartbeat North West Cardiac Care (Preston)

Deliver online exercise programmes and a telephone service to vulnerable community members. The grant will be used for staff costs, laptops and mobile costs.            

Rosemary and Time CIC (Ribble Valley)

Provide memory packs to vulnerable members of the community which will help improve metal health and wellbeing by bringing people closer together. The grant will be used for staff, resources for the packs and the printing of the packs

Stanley Grange Community Association (South Ribble)

Provide tablets for vulnerable people to use so that they can stay connected which will help improve isolation and mental health. The grant will be used to purchase benches and tablets.              

Wade Hall Community Association (South Ribble)

Set up a COVID-19 crisis food bank. The grant will be used for travel costs, food, toiletries, ink cartridges, paper, bags, tin foil, cling film, posters.

Hesketh Bank Community Centre (West Lancashire)

To fund the cost of printing and distribution of a Newsletter to be delivered by Royal Mail containing vital information about how to access support during the Covid crisis.

Acorn Recovery Projects (Burnley)

Supported Accommodation Service - To procure equipment that can not only relieve tension at this difficult time but also provide the opportunity for development. This would be gardening equipment, garden furniture, games equipment, karaoke equipment, fitness equipment and IT.
