Tackling loneliness in later life this World Mental Health Day
For many older people, life can become “very, very, very small” after a bereavement, a move away from family, or too many days at home alone.
In Lancashire, an estimated 35,000 people aged 65+ have little or no contact with anyone (Age UK Lancashire). Loneliness is closely linked to anxiety and depression.
Just Good Friends, founded by Bev Sykes, is changing that with good food, good company and a reason to leave the house.
