Lancashire Investors in Community

Lancashire Investors in Community (LICS) logo

Lancashire Investors in Community brings together local businesses who support the work of  the Community Foundation.

Members share the belief that as part of a collective effort we can bring about greater change.

The annual membership fee goes directly into our core costs, which enables us to enhance our own research and development activities, and therefore secure significant new charitable investments to help our communities flourish and prosper.

A message from from our founding investor – Edwin Booth CBE, DL

Businesses are sometimes often perceived to be self-centered organisations with their own interests at heart, and yet enterprises of whatever size have the power to be a force for good in our fragmented society. Lancashire Investors in Community (LIiC) came into being three years ago, with the sole purpose of providing the platform for a like-minded group of businesses to enhance the efforts of the Community Foundation for Lancashire (CFL) to reach more grass roots community organisations throughout the county.

ESG is now at the forefront of the business agenda and LIiC is an affordable way to enrich your engagement with the community. Membership has led a number of us to support community groups at a local level, and some or our members have chosen to create their own charitable Foundation with the support of the Community Foundation for Lancashire.

Whether you are a recent start-up, or a mature enterprise, Lancashire Investors in Community is a valuable way to share your success with wider society, where there will always be the need for the inspiration, support and leadership that business can bring.

“Some of the most impressive businesses have been founded by people who have known deprivation and hardship that has driven them to succeed. Lancashire Investors in Community provides business with the pathway to supporting the many voluntary organisations throughout our county that help to give hope to those who might, one day, be the employers of the future”

“Giving back to the communities we operate in is one of MHA’s key values and we are proud to be a founding member of Lancashire Investors in Community. Our societal impact strategy isn’t just about giving monetary donations and we continue to explore with LliC how we can maximise our impact by using our people’s skills and expertise to help residents across the county, particularly young people.”

Graham Gordon, Regional Chair of MHA
