About the fund
The BIBAs Foundation, managed by the Community Foundation for Lancashire has been created to develop an enterprising culture in the youth of Lancashire. The fund is made up of business and personal donations, prize draw money and net surplus from the Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs) which is owned and delivered by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce (NWLCC).
Fund Priorities
Projects should enable young people aged 16-24 to flourish, learn and develop skills or knowledge
Projects should encourage enterprise for young people aged 16-24
Continue or expand work experience for young people aged 16-24
Build capacity for young people aged 16-24’s future
Projects that improve confidence levels, for young people aged 16-24, which can help towards future employment and enterprise prospects can be considered
Who Can Apply
Funding is available for organisations and individuals permanently based in Lancashire matching at least one of the priorities above. We can accept applications from all areas of Lancashire as long as they are one of the following:
- Young people aged 16-24 can apply directly themselves via the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
- (Charities, social enterprises and community groups who are supporting young people aged 16-24 should apply via the application form on the community group page)
Examples of Eligible Grant Items
Acquiring qualifications
Educational visits
Business start-up costs
Mentoring/Consultancy
Developing skills and confidence through structured training and development programmes e.g. courses, workshops, and classes
Amount available
Individuals can apply for up to £2,000 via the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Community Groups can apply for up to £5,000 here
The panel may offer contributions to projects depending on the number of applications received and oversubscription rate. The total budget is approximately TBC.
What cannot be funded?
- Vehicles or vehicle insurance
- Debt repayment
- Religion or politics related activity
- Retrospective activity
- Annual salary costs (however, sessional based costs can be considered)

Documents which need to be included with your application:
- Proof of address
- Copy of ID
- Copy of a recent bank statement
If you have applied to us within the last 12 months and provided this information, we do not need you to send it again, although we may require a more recent bank statement.
Completed applications are considered by Community Foundation staff to check eligibility. You may be contacted for more information after applying and a decision-making panel will make recommendations based on the fund’s criteria and the budget available.
