Community Foundation for Lancashire Summer Drinks 2026

Business leaders, partners and supporters came together for the Community Foundation for Lancashire’s (CFL) annual Summer Drinks event, at the University of Lancashire in Preston. Unfortunately, we couldn’t gather on the rooftop this year, as the local seagulls had taken up nesting duties and made it very clear that the space was reserved exclusively for them!

Although we didn’t get to soak up the sun, the event still provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with and thank the organisations and individuals who make Community Foundation for Lancashire’s work possible, including members of our Lancashire Investors in Community (LIiC) network.

We find that our Summer Drinks are often more than a networking event. It brings together businesses and leaders who share a passion for supporting the communities where they live and work, exchanging ideas and exploring opportunities to make an even greater impact across Lancashire.

Guests also heard from Dave Scholes of Six Connections, a previous recipient of support through the Christal Foundation, a fund managed by CFL. Dave shared the organisation’s journey and the difference this funding has made.

His moving account brought to life the real-world impact even small amounts of funding can make. Using the £2,100 awarded by Christal Foundation to pilot an AI-powered app that provides mental health support to people whenever and wherever they need it, saving two lives since it was launched three months ago.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support CFL.
Together, we’re building stronger communities and creating lasting change across Lancashire.
