Seeing Is Believing: Lancashire Investors in Community Visit Female Friendship Forum

Members of Lancashire Investors in Community (LIiC) recently visited the Female Friendship Forum in Pendle, a grassroots organisation awarded £3000 by the Marsden Building Society Foundation last year.

‘Seeing is Believing’ visits are one of the perks for our LIiC members, giving them the opportunity to experience firsthand the lasting impact of local charitable investment.

Empowering Women Through Connection and Wellbeing

The Female Friendship Forum received the funding to run weekly sessions for women over 50, offering a welcoming space to build friendships and improve wellbeing through activities such as yoga, pilates, arts and crafts, nature walks and cycling.

During the visit, LIiC members heard directly from community leaders and service users about how the group has helped them overcome loneliness, regain confidence and find renewed purpose.

The project was possible thanks to funding from donor and LIiC member Marsden Building Society and their commitment to strengthening community wellbeing across Lancashire.

“The Female Friendship Forum is a great initiative offering women in the Pendle area chance to connect and improve their wellbeing. Through the Marsden Building Society Charitable Foundation, we’re proud to support valuable projects like this, which improve the lives of people living in our local communities.”

Rob Pheasey, Chief Executive of the Marsden Building Society

Building Stronger Communities Together

The visit highlighted the tangible difference that community partnerships can make, connecting local business resources with grassroots projects that change lives.

These Seeing is Believing experiences are a core part of Lancashire Investors in Community, a network of businesses working together with the Community Foundation for Lancashire to create meaningful, long-term impact across the region.
