The Community Foundation for Lancashire was presented with a North West Charity Award on Wednesday evening for best Fundraising Campaign for their efforts on the Lancashire Flood Recovery Appeal in 2015/16.
Other nominees in the category included charities throughout the North West: Action for Sick Children, Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art, Prevent Breast Cancer, St Ann’s Hospice and Wipe Your Tears.
The inaugural North West Charity Awards ceremony took place in Manchester’s Midland Hotel to provide charities and non-profit organisations in the region with the opportunity to be celebrated and recognised for their outstanding contributions to their communities.
Collecting the award on the night, Karen Morris, Philanthropy Director said, “We are delighted to receive the award but the recognition is shared with the partners and donors who helped achieve so much. It reinforces the importance the Community Foundation plays in both a leadership and support role for the Lancashire community.
The Community Foundation for Lancashire launched the Appeal to help people in hardship across Lancashire affected by the flooding caused by Storm Desmond and Storm Eva. Over £1 million was raised to provide grants to groups and individuals across the county in need of support.
