Taking your data seriously

This month, we have updated our Privacy Policy to make it easier for you to understand what information we collect and why we collect it.

You may already have heard about the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will come into force on 25th May 2018. It represents one of the biggest changes to data protection rules in two decades.

The Community Foundation has always taken managing data extremely seriously as part of best practice. In line with GDPR, we have been working across all areas of our organisation, and with our suppliers, to make further improvements ahead of 25th May. We have produced a Privacy Policy document that you can read by clicking on the link below.

In order to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we are moving to an ‘opt-in’ communication policy. This means that we will only send marketing communications to those that have stated that they are happy for us to do so via their preferred channels. For selected groups of individuals (grant applicants, fundholders, staff, volunteers and Reciprocate members) we will also use ‘Legitimate Interests’ for communications about core activities specifically relevant to them.
